After disappointing performances at the EURO this summer, Denmark decided to change its head coach and start a new competition with Lars Knudsen as a caretaker manager. Denmark welcomed the UEFA Nations League with four games without a win in a row, so the most important was to start the new campaign with a win. The first half against Switzerland in the opening round was even, but after Nico Elvedi's red card at the start of the second half, Knudsen's team had complete control, so Denmark secured a 2-0 victory. 

After a disappointing performance at EURO, most expected Serbia's head coach, Dragan Stojkovic, to be sacked. He survived, but when Stojkovic came out with players for the September games, the obvious silent boycott occurred, as some of the best players reported that they would skip the games for various reasons. The head coach, Stojkovic, had done what was only possible then - turned to the younger players. And unexpectedly, Serbia played 0-0 at home against Spain in the Nations League first round.

Denmark scored only four goals in the last five matches, while Serbia scored only one in the previous four. Denmark and Serbia played in the same group in the EURO, too, and we had a boring 0-0 in that game. We should expect another low-scoring game between these two teams.
