An in-form Danubio will be confident of getting a positive result when they take on city rivals Penarol this week.

While the hosts have been held to draws in each of their last three matches, Alejandro Apud´s side are unbeaten in 14 of 15 league games played since the start of June.

Now in the Clausura phase of the season, Danubio sit third in the Primera Division standings, one point ahead of their opponents on Wednesday.

Strong on their own patch, Apud´s men won five successive league contests before a 1:1 draw against Defensor Sporting in their most recent fixture at Estadio Jardines del Hipódromo.

Penarol make the short cross-city journey having broken a run of three successive matches without victory against Deportivo Maldonado over the weekend. Gaston Ramirez was among the goals as Diego Aguirre´s side claimed a much-needed three points. 

While usually a reliable force domestically, Penaral have endured something of a sticky spell with points dropped in four of their last eight league contests.

Danubio claimed home victories in both of their last two meetings against Penarol at this venue, and given their recent form, should be confident of getting another positive result on Tuesday.
