France make the trip to Croatia as narrow favourites to emerge with a first-leg advantage in their crucial Nations League quarter-final matchup.

Didier Dechamps side enjoyed a decent run of form at the end of the year after their semi-final  exit at Euro 2024 last summer. Following a surprise 3:1 home defeat against Italy in their first Nations League A group fixture, Les Bleus responded well to claim victories in four of their five remaining matches. Home and away victories against Belgium as well as a revenge victory in Italy secured a quarter-final berth for the French.

While in possession of so much attacking quality, clean sheets have been rare for Deschamps side in the past 12 months. France conceded at least one goal in five of their last seven matches and in each of their last three away UNL contests. All of those games saw BTTS.

Croatia comes into Thursday's contest having narrowly secured their place in the quarter-finals despite failing to win any of their last three group fixtures. Zlatko Dalić´s side picked up score draws against Poland (3:3) and Portugal (1:1) either side of a 1:0 defeat in Scotland. Home victories against Poland and Scotland in September and October proved crucial for Croatia.

Like the French, the Croats have proven a strong choice in the goal markets over the past year. Only two of their eight most recent fixtures did not see both teams get on the scoresheet.

History also favours our confidence in the BTTS pick on Thursday. Four of the last five meetings between these nations saw both teams score, and a similar outcome should be expected this week.
