Coventry vs QPR Betting Tips - BTTS

An evenly balanced contest seems likely when two mid-table rivals clash in the Championship this week.Locked together on 41 points after 31 games played, both teams have enjoyed some decent form since the turn of the year.

Coventry look to extend their winning run in the Championship to five matches after a 4:1 defeat in the FA Cup against Ipswich on Saturday.

While left empty-handed against the Tractor Boys, the Sky Blues have certainly improved since the appointment of Frank Lampard. Coventry won five and lost only one of their last nine league fixtures since Boxing day.

Despite their decent spell, Lampard´s side have been inconsistent in home matches with two wins and two defeats recorded in their last five at the Coventry Building Society Arena. Just one clean sheet in those fixtures, with six goals conceded in their last two suggests that defensive issues remain for the home side.

QPR make the trip to Coventry after a free weekend having already been eliminated from the FA Cup earlier this year. The R´s slipped to a 2:1 defeat at Millwall in their most recent away fixture before bouncing back with a vital win against Blackburn last time out.

High-scoring outcomes have been relatively frequent for the visitors. Seven of their last nine games saw BTTS while six of those games also saw at least three goals scored.

Each of the last three meetings between these sides also saw both teams scoring, and a similar outcome seems likely on Tuesday.

BTTS is my top tip at The Coventry Building Society Arena.

Coventry team news

Frank Lampard has three expected absentees this week including American forward Haji Wright. The Sky Blues boss is likely to keep faith with the same XI that slipped to a 4:1 FA Cup defeat against Ipswich on Saturday.
