The fight to escape the relegation zone continues at Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia, where Como face AC Monza in Saturday’s matchday 14 of the Italian top tier.
The comeback to Italy’s top football stage hasn’t gone smoothly for Como, reflected in their 18th-place position deep in the drop zone, but they can draw comfort from being only one point shy of climbing out to safety. The team managed by former Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas has been stuck in a rut for quite some time, managing to scrape together a meager two points from a possible 21 in their last seven SA outings, making it evident that a drastic turnaround is urgently needed to prevent them from sinking further into trouble.
In their first two seasons since returning to Italy’s top division, AC Monza didn't face relegation concerns, but this year things have been much tougher, pushing them down into the relegation zone. Currently sitting second from the bottom with a meager nine points, the Lombardian club has struggled to secure wins, with their only bright moment being a three-goal thrashing of Hellas Verona in October 21, but shortly after, they reverted to their old habits, leaving them two points behind the safety line.
Como vs Monza Betting Tips: UNDER 2.5
Given that both teams are fearing relegation and a further gap from safety, we believe this bottom-of-the-table clash will be tightly contested with minimal risk taken in the final third. It’s clear that Como's attacking line has dulled recently, as they have failed to hit the back of the net in three out of their last five SA matches. On their side, AC Monza have also recently been disrupted by a dry spell in attack, as Djuric's equalizing goal in the 1-1 draw against Torino last time out ended the Lombardy club's three-match scoreless streak. Moreover, the head-to-head meetings between these rivals have been notably dull, with the 2.5-goal line proving too tough to surpass in four of the last five encounters, so we believe there are strong reasons to expect another unexciting affair where a single goal might be enough to decide the winner of this bottom-of-the-table clash.

Como team news
Manager Cesc Fabregas will be forced to make at least one change to his starting lineup after center-back Alberto Dossena received a red card in stoppage time during last week’s match against Fiorentina, with Edoardo Goldaniga set to replace him.
However, Como’s injury list is notably long, with the team missing nine players, including key trio Marc Oliver Kempf, Maximo Perrone, and former Barcelona midfielder Sergi Roberto, who is currently undergoing knee rehabilitation in Catalonia.
