- Competition: Belgian Cup, Quarter-Finals
- Date: Tuesday, 7th January, 2025
- Kickoff: 19:45 UK / 20:45 CET
- Venue: Jan Breydel Stadion (Brugge)
On Tuesday evening, two Juplier Pro League teams, Club Brugge and Leuven, will face off in the Quarter Finals of the Belgian Cup at Jan Breydel Stadion in Brugge.
Club Brugge are one of Belgium's biggest clubs and the reigning champs. This season, they had a rough start, and it looked like they were in problems. Still, after that initial poor start, they began playing much better and are now 2nd in the league with 41 points in 20 rounds - just one point behind the the first-placed Genk. But besides their good performance in the domestic league, they are doing fine in the Champions League as well and are on the path to securing the next phase of the competition.
Since achieving promotion to the Jupiler Pro League in the 2020/21 season, Leuven have been between 10th and 12th place. This year, even though it is still early, Leuven looks like they will once again be around their usual placement. They are in 11th place with 25 points but just four points away from dropping to the relegation group. Still, after winning two out of the last three matches, there are definitely things to be optimistic about.
Club Brugge vs Leuven pick: Club Brugge to win and cover the -1.5 AH spread
Club Brugge are on a 14-game unbeaten run with a 79% win rate during that period. But at home, they are even on a better run, as they won eight in a row while beating some really good teams like Aston Villa, Anderlecht, Genk, and Sporting CP. So, winning against Leuven shouldn't be a problem.
Leuven did well lately, losing only once in the last eight matches. Still, most of their good results came from home. On the road, they won only one out of ten games this season, and we do not expect much from them against Club Brugge.
In the previous three h2h games, Club Brugge won every time. Also, Club Brugge haven't lost in the last nine h2h games vs Leuven. Considering the previous h2h games and all the above, we expect a comfortable win for Club Brugge.

Leuven team news
In the previous game against Beeschot, Ezechiel Banzuzi suffered an injury and had to leave the field after only 19 minutes. The 19-year-old midfielder scored one and assisted five times in 19 appearances. He participated in 32% of Leuven's league goals, and his absence will surely be a factor.
Ewoud Pletinckx, Antef Tsoungui, and Thibault Vlietinck, who missed the previous games with injuries, should remain sidelined for the Club Brugge game.
