Chelsea vs Nottingham Forest Betting Tips: BTTS / Over 2.5 Goals
Chelsea return to EPL action for a fourth successive home fixture this weekend after extending their winning run to five matches with a comfortable 4:2 win against Gent in the Conference League on Thursday.
Enzo Maresca's improving side picked up back-to-back EPL road victories at West Ham and Bournemouth before scoring a total of 13 goals in victories against Barrow (5:0), Brighton (4:2) and the aforementioned Gent in comfortable home wins.
Particularly strong at Stamford Bridge, the Blues have picked up wins in 12 of their last 15 home fixtures. A minimum of three goals were scored in 10 of those victories.
While a home win seems a likely outcome, it would be unwise to dismiss the chances of a Forest side that has shown plenty of quality in the early part of the season. An away win at Liverpool suggests the visitors cannot be under-estimated this weekend.
Placed tenth in the division, Nuno Espirito Santo´s side have failed to win their last two matches since the win at Anfield, although they did pick up a 2:2 draw in their most recent away fixture at a strong Brighton side
Perhaps surprisingly, Forest are unbeaten in their last five away EPL games, with the draw at Brighton breaking an impressive run of four successive Premier League road victories.
Clean sheets have been rare for Chelsea, with only three kept in their last 11 home fixtures. With the visitors impressing in recent away contests, we should expect both teams to score this weekend.
With Chelsea´s rearguard hardly the most reliable, I'm confident Forest can score in a fixture that is likely to prove more competitive than oddsmakers suggest.
BTTS looks like the best value pick, while I also expect a minimum of three goals scored in a likely competitive EPL contest.
