An intriguing Premier League contest takes place at the Bridge this weekend with both teams feeling confident ahead of the new season. 

Chelsea delivered a much-improved second half of the season to finish sixth and secure a spot in the Europa Conference League for the upcoming campaign. Now led by Enzo Maresca, City´s former assistant, the Blues will be looking to pick up where they left off after another busy summer in the transfer market.

Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola's Manchester City will be looking to extend their historic run by clinching a fifth consecutive Premier League title. 

The two teams recently faced off in a pre-season match just two weeks ago, with City coming out on top with a 4:2 victory and another entertaining affair seems likely.

At Stamford Bridge, Chelsea have won eight of their last ten PL matches. Eight of those games also saw at least three goals scored, while six saw BTTS. However, they now face a City side who have won ten and drawn one of their last 11 away PL fixtures. Seven of those games also saw at least three goals netted.

Recent encounters between these sides have proven competitive although the Citizens have remained largely dominant. Guardiola´s side won eight of their last ten encounters, but were held to a 4:4 draw on their last visit to Stamford Bridge.

With City still missing some of their top performers, I anticipate another competitive contest where we can be confident of both teams scoring. Three of their last four encounters saw the same outcome, and a repeat seems likely on Sunday.
