Chelsea’s fight for Champions League football qualification continues this weekend when they welcome Everton to the Bridge.

Even without playing, Chelsea suffered a huge blow in midweek when Man City snatched a late victory over Villa at the Etihad. A draw would have been the best result for Enzo Maresca's men as City moved into the top three. The Blues now need to prove they deserve to be in Europe by taking as many points as possible from their remaining games.

Everton don't have much to play for as they are mathematically safe from relegation. The Toffees have improved massively under new boss David Moyes, losing just two of their last 13 Premier League games and kept three clean sheets in that time. Having also avoided defeat in five of their last six games away from Goodison, they will be fancying their chances of picking up at least a point against Chelsea this weekend.

Chelsea vs Everton Betting Tips: Under 2.5 goals

Everton's greatest strength in recent months has been their defence. The Blues conceded under one goal in each of their last seven games, and that's despite coming up against highly attacking sides such as Liverpool, Arsenal and Forest. None of the seven encounters yielded more than two goals.

Chelsea didn't also score plenty of goals in their recent games at the Bridge. Aside from a 2-2 draw with Ipswich Town a fortnight ago, Maresca's men haven't scored more than once in their last five home games. Three of those games ended with exactly one goal and I tip Saturday's game to end similarly.

  • Best Tip: Under 2.5 goals
  • Chelsea vs Everton prediction: 1-0

Everton boss David Moyes will be without the services of James Tarkowski for this weekend's trip to Chelsea due to injury.

Tarkowski suffered a hamstring injury in last weekend's defeat at Man City and the centre-back will be sidelined for weeks.
