- Competition: Jupiler Pro League
- Date: Friday, 28th February, 2025
- Kickoff: 19:45 UK / 20:45 CET
- Venue: Stade du Pays de Charleroi (Charleroi)
Charleroi were mostly in the mid or lower part of the league's table in the previous few seasons. This year, they look like a mid-table team once again, considering they sit in 8th place with 36 points - five points away from the Championship Group and six points away from the Relegation Group. Since there are only three rounds left and will have a challenging schedule (Genk, Mechelen, and Club Bruge), it seems that finishing in the Conference League Group seems like their maximum.
Genk are playing an excellent season! They are at the top of the league's table and are a comfortable nine points away from the second-placed Club Brugge. However, they finished 1st in the 2022/23 and 2018/19 seasons in the regular part but still failed to win the title. So, it is crucial for them to win as many points as they can before the beginning of the Championship Group. In the remaining three games, they will face off against Charleroi, Dender, and Royale Union SG.
Charleroi vs Genk pick: Both teams to score
Charleroi are pretty inconsistent in terms of results. However, they are scoring regularly at home and have done so in 12 out of 15 games - 80%. But even in the matches they failed to score (against Anderlecht, Leuven, and Antwerp), they created many chances and averaged around 1.0 xG.
Genk are the best team in the league and the second-best offensive team in the Jupiler Pro League, with 51 scored goals in 27 rounds - 1.89 per game. Also, away from home, they have been great offensively but not that great defensively, as they rarely kept a clean sheet. Because of excellent offense and not-that-great defense away from home, both teams scored in 69% of Genk's league (road) games.
Considering all the above, we believe that both teams to score bet is the safest option for this Jupiler Pro League tie.

Charleroi team news
After a 3:1 win over Westerlo, coach Rik de Mil spoke to the media. He was satisfied with a win, saying it was one of their best of the season since Westerlo were three points away from them. He added that the team responded well after the halftime break after being down 1:0.
The team should have almost the entire squad available. Only a backup goalkeeper, Theo Defourny, will be sidelined with his injury.

Genk team news
A starting right full-back, Zakaria El Ouahdi, received his fifth yellow card in the previous match against Gent and will be suspended. With him suspended, we could see Ken Nkuba in the starting lineup. On the other hand, goalkeeper Mike Penders served his one-game suspension and will be available.
Like Charleroi, they will also have only one injured player. Forward Yira Sor will miss his 16th consecutive game with a muscle injury.
