- Competition: Champions League
- Date: Tuesday, 5th November, 2024
- Kickoff: 20:00 UK / 21:00 CET
- Venue: Celtic Park (Glasgow)
On Tuesday evening, Celtic will welcome RB Leipzig in the fourth round of the Champions League at Celtic Park in Glasgow.
Celtic have been super-dominant in Scotland, winning 12 titles in the last 13 years! Last year, they won both the league and Cup titles. However, their dominance in the domestic competitions wasn't followed by success in Europe as the Celts often struggled to even qualify for the Champions League, let alone reach the knockout phase. In the last two seasons, they finished the competition as the last-placed team in the group. This season, they started the competition much better. They won four points in three rounds and are currently in the 20th place, which leads to the 1/16 Finals.
RB Leipzig quickly became one of the German top teams, but considering the amount of money they invested, no one is really surprised. This season, the team from Saxony is once again looking good in the domestic competitions, as they are in second place, just three points behind Bayern Munich. However, their start in the Champions League was atrocious as they lost all three games so far and are looking for their first points against the Scottish champs.
Celtic vs RB Leipzig pick: Over 2.5 goals
Celtic came to this game after an excellent performances in the domestic competition, winning three in a row and scoring 11 goals - 3.7 per game. Their performance in the Cup against Aberdeen was especially impressive, considering the Celts won 6:0. Additionally, at home, the Celts have scored two or more goals in all nine games, and it is fair to expect another good performance.
Meanwhile, RB Leipzig have played mostly high-scoring games lately as they were over 2.5 goals line in the last three games in all competitions, with an average of 4.33 per game! While they looked good offensively, we are far from impressive defensively because they haven't had a clean sheet in the last four games, and it is unreal to expect it away from home against an in-form Celtic.
Considering all the above, we expect an exciting, high-scoring game, most likely with both teams scoring.

Celtic team news
After a 6:0 win over Aberdeen in the Cup, coach Brendan Rogers spoke to the media. He was delighted with a big win but was frustrated because someone from his squad or staff leaked information about his starting lineup to the media. The coach mostly focused on that part and said that whoever is putting that out is not helping Celtic. "You're not a Celtic supporter because you're not helping Celtic. It's as simple as that. We will do everything we can to find out," the coach added.
For the upcoming game, the coach should have the entire squad available.

RB Leipzig team news
After a 2:1 loss against Borussia Dortmund, coach Marco Rose spoke to the media. He was unhappy and said that lack of courage cost them points in this game. "We weren't good. In many respects, Dortmund were better and played more physically. They were better with the ball and made better decisions," the coach said. Also, the coach said that Castello Lukeba suffered an injury in training and will most likely miss a few weeks.
Additionally, David Raum, Xaver Schlager, and Xavi Simons, who missed the previous games with their injuries, should remain sidelined.
