Premiership action returns this weekend as champions Celtic begin the defence of their title against Kilmarnock at Celtic Park.

Celtic vs Kilmarnock Betting Tips: Celtic to Win / Over 2.5

Celtic kick off their Premiership season after a hugely impressive run of results in pre-season friendly fixtures. The Hoops triumphed in all four friendlies, defeating Queen's Park, and DC United, before eye-catching wins against Premier League champions Manchester City, and Chelsea.

Impressively, the Hoops bagged exactly four goals in each of their three wins in the USA, including a 4:1 win against Chelsea.

Domestically, Celtic's home form has been hugely impressive in 2024, with nine wins in their last ten Premiership matches at Parkhead. Brendan Rodger´s side found the back of the net 21 times in their six most recent home victories.

Kilmarnock return to Premiership action following a narrow Europa League qualifier defeat earlier this week. Derek McInnes's side bowed out of the competition after a 1:0 defeat in Brugge on Thursday.

While a tough side to beat on their travels - Killie lost just one of their last eight away Premiership matches, Parkhead is a daunting venue for any side in Scotland. After a tough defeat on Thursday, it's hard to imagine Kilmarnock getting anything from their opening fixture of the Premiership season.

Ultimately, while Killie are unlikely to fold easily, Celtic´s superb recent form cannot be ignored, and I expect the Hoops to score a commanding victory on Sunday.

I'm putting my money on a Celtic win, with at least three goals scored at Parkhead.
