Celtic will be looking to record four straight wins for the first time since November when they welcome Bayern Munich to Celtic Park for a Champions League Playoff tie.

The hosts finished the new league phase of the Champions League in 21st place with 12 points, while Bayern Munich were just one point off the automatic qualification places.

Celtic couldn't have been better prepared for Wednesday's game after beating Raith Rovers 5:0 in the Scottish Cup on Saturday afternoon. It was their third win on the bounce, having beaten Motherwell and Dundee 3:1 and 6:0 in their previous two league games.

Bayern Munich meanwhile extended their lead at the top of the German top flight with a 3:0 win at the weekend. The Reds now boast a win from each of their last four matches, and found the net at least three times in all but one of those encounters.

Celtic vs Bayern Munich Betting Tips: Over 2.5 goals

While Bayern Munich will be considered favourites by many, and rightly so, I don't really fancy the Bundesliga outfit to come out on top in the first leg as they have struggled away from home in their recent European fixtures. Kompany's side won just one of their last seven Champions League games, losing five of them.

Celta have been scoring goals for fun in recent weeks, not just in the Scottish Premiership but in Europe as well. The Bhoys scored at least two goals in all but one of their last ten outings, and the last time they failed to score at this ground in any competition was in December 2023.

  • Best Tip: Over 2.5 goals
  • Celtic vs Bayern Munich prediction: 2-2

Celtic team news

Paulo Bernardo is a doubt for Celtic on Wednesday, having only lasted 37 minutes in the Scottish Cup win over Raith Rovers last time out.

Daizen Maeda has been in fine form for the hosts this season, with 15 goals/assists in the Scottish Premiership, and has also found the back of the net on three occasions in Europe.

The Japanese professional is unavailable for Wednesday’s clash with Bayern as he is set to serve the last of his two match ban for the red card against Young Boys.

Bayern Munich team news

Serge Gnabry, Daniel Peretz and João Palhinha are all doubts for the trip to Scotland after missing the last few games through illness.

Should the trio miss Wednesday's Champions League clash, they will be joined in the treatment room by Hiroki Ito (metatarsal fracture) and Alphonso Davies (torn muscle fibre).
