Cartagena returned to La Liga 2 in 2020/21 after spending eight seasons in the Segunda Division. In the previous four seasons in La Liga 2, they were mostly in the middle of the league's table. However, this season has been a disaster from the very start. They are the last-placed team in the league with only seven points in 14 rounds. Right now, they are seven points away from the safe zone, and even though it is still early, survival looks very challenging if something doesn't change drastically.

Meanwhile, Huesca were relegated from La Liga in 2020/21 and were not even close to returning back to the Spanish top-flight division. In fact, they were between 13th and 17th place in the previous three seasons, much closer to the relegation zone than the Playoffs or promotion. This season, we cannot say they were impressive, but still look much better than in the previous seasons. Right now, they are in 11th with 19 points, just three points away from the Playoffs and a game played fewer than the teams currently occupying the playoffs spots.

Cartagena vs Huesca pick: Under 2.5 goals

Cartagena are in terrible form. Their only win in the last eight games was in the Cup against Beasain, which plays in the Tercera! But even in that game, Cartagena only scored once. During that eight-game stretch, Cartagena scored just four goals, so it is unreal to expect they can offer some good offensive display.

Huesca haven't been too great either in recent games, winning only in the Cup in the last six games. Away from home they really struggled this season in La Liga 2, scoring just five goals in six matches. Mostly due to a poor offense, they were under 2.5 goals in four out of six road La Liga matches - 67%.
