Chile will be looking to register what will be their first win in the 2024 Copa America tournament when they face Canada in Orlando on Sunday.

The Canadians have not had issues with reaching the knockout stages in the Copa América in recent years, and they look set to do it again this year. Jesse Marsch’s side sit second in group A after their win over Peru last time out, with a point against Chile this Sunday all that is needed to see them reach the round of 16 for the fifth straight time.

Chile meanwhile were champions in two of their last four appearances in the Copa America. The Red One started the 2024 edition with a goalless draw with Peru where they had 65% of the ball and eleven shots. They couldn’t repeat that against Leonel Messi and Argentina last time out as the nation suffered a 1-0 defeat. However, qualification to the knockout rounds is still very much within reach for Ricardo Gareca’s side.

Canada vs Chile Betting Tips: Under 2.5 goals

When it comes to the games of Canada and Chile so far at this tournament, the absence of goals has been the major headlines. All two games of the Chileans ended with just one goal, and we saw similar results the last time they came to this tournament.

Canada have been very solid defensively lately. The Canadians boast two clean sheets from their last three games and given that one of those games came against France, it won’t be a surprise if Jesse Marsch’s men finish Sunday’s game without conceding.

  • Best Tip: Under 2.5 goals
  • Canada vs Chile prediction: 0-0

Canada team news

Canada national soccer team boss Jesse Marsch made four substitutions at half-time in the win over Peru at the Children's Mercy Park last time out.

Having provided the assist for the winner in that game, one of the substitutes’ Jacob Shaffelburg will be pushing for a start against Chile this weekend.

Chile team news

Chile will continue to rely on the services of their all-time most capped player and top scorer Alexis Sánchez.

The 35-year-old has started all two games played so far and should retain his number 10 role on Sunday against the Canadians.

Eduardo Vargas will continue to lead the line, while the likes of Rodrigo Echeverría and Esteban Pavez are pushing for starts in defence and midfield, respectively.
