The joint Group J leaders in 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifying go head to head on Friday evening as Cameroon play host to Kenya in Doula.

Cameroon are unbeaten since the round of 16 defeat to Nigeria in the last AFCON tournament in Ivory Coast. The Indomitable Lions have since taken part in four encounters, avoiding defeat in all four (two wins and two draws). However, one of those wins came against 114th ranked Namibia and Brys’ men failed to break down Zimbabwe in a goalless draw last month.

Kenya missed out on the last Africa Cup of Nations but they have been very good in recent months. The Harambee Stars suffered defeat in just one of their last ten games across all competitions and also kept five clean sheets in the nine competitive games played in that spell.

Cameroon vs Kenya Betting Tips: Under 2.5 goals

The last time Cameroon had a free flowing attack was back in June when the Indomitable Lions beat Cape Verde 4-1 in a World Cup Qualifier. Marc Brys’ side have scored under one goal in each of their last three outings and bets on under 2.5 goals were scored in as many games.

There wasn't much entertainment in Kenya's recent games either. Engin Fırat’s side boast four clean sheets from their last six competitive matches and didn’t score more than twice in any of those games. Bets on under 2.5 goals were won in five of those fixtures and I fancy a similar result against Cameroon this week.

  • Best Tip: Under 2.5 goals
  • Cameroon vs Kenya prediction: 2-0

Cameroon team news

Cameroon national football team boss Marc Brys will be without Olivier Tcham for this month’s encounters with Kenya due to injury.

Centre back Jean Charles Castelleto has been called to replace the injured midfielder.

All eyes will be on Bryan Mbeumo who has had a bright start to the 2024-25 campaign with Brentford in the Premier League, registering six goals in seven matches.

Kenya team news

TNS winger Adam Wilson is in the 24-man-squad named by head coach Engin Fırat for the October international break.

Wilson who is on loan from Bradford City has found the back of the net twice in the Welsh Premier League this season and will be hoping to get a place in the XI for the Harambee Stars this week.

Three reasons we expect under 2.5 goals in this game

  1. Six of the last seven games of Kenya ended with under 2.5 goals.
  2. Just one of the last five games of Cameroon produced more than two goals.
  3. Cameroon kept a clean sheet in each of their last three AFCON Qualifiers.
