Inter Milan make the trip to Sardinia in search of a fourth successive victory after a hard-fought 2:0 win against Como on Monday. In-form French forward Marcus Thuram put the seal on the victory with his stoppage time goal marking his 12th strike of the Serie A season. 

Simone Inzaghi´s title-holders have enjoyed a strong run of form, picking up wins in six of their last seven Serie A fixtures. Impressively, Inter remain unbeaten across 11 league fixtures since losing the Milan derby in September.

Up to third in the division, now just three points behind Atalanta, and with the benefit of a game in hand, Nerazzurri will see this clash as an ideal opportunity to close the gap at the top of the table.

While the visitors have been in excellent form, Cagliari return to the Unopol Domus having lost each of their last four league matches. Davide Nicola´s men suffered back-to-back road defeats against Juventus (4:0) and Venezia (2:1) in the past fortnight. 

Inconsistent in home matches, the Isolani have lost four of their last eight games on the Unipol Domus, including a 4:0 defeat against Napoli in September and a 1:0 reversal against Atalanta a fortnight ago.

Inter will also take plenty of confidence from their recent record in matches against Cagliari. I Nerazzurri won seven of their nine most recent encounters, and seven of their last matches in Sardinia.

In the end, I expect Inter to prove too strong for the out-of-form hosts, and an away win should prove the best bet on Saturday evening.
