For Cagliari, every season is a challenge to keep heads above the water. They hoped not to repeat the previous season when they secured staying in Serie A in the final round, but the club from Unipol Domuc could be in an identical situation in a few months. With 11 league rounds left to be played, Cagliari are only three points above the relegation zone. Only one victory in the last six matches doesn't give much optimism. Last weekend, Cagliari lost 2-1 on the road against Bologna. The home side finished the game with an xG of 2.13, while the guests had only 0.58, so it was unrealistic to take valuable points home. 

With nine points more than the drop zone, Genoa have much fewer reasons to worry about the final 11 rounds of the season. Their fine form and only three defeats in the last ten matches give more than enough optimism. In the previous match, Genoa played 1-1 at home against Empoli. The home side was the favorite to win, but the guests were closer to victory as they held the lead for almost the whole game, so Genoa was happy to avoid defeat and continue their journey to the mid-table.

Both these teams are low-scoring. Cagliari scored only one goal in the last three matches. On the other hand, Genoa found the net four times in the previous four league rounds. It is hard to imagine more than two gaols in the upcoming tie at Unipol Domus.
