- Venue: Turf Moor
Burnley will be looking to keep alive their hopes of a return to the English top flight at the end of the season when they welcome Sheffield Wednesday to Turf Moor this week.
The hosts finished top of the table in each of their last two Championship campaigns, including the 2022-23 campaign when they broke the 100-point barrier under Vincent Kompany. The Clarets failed to live up to their billing in the top flight last season and got relegated after a 19th place finish. Scott Parker's men have not quite been impressive this season, but they will take heart from the fact that just five points separates them from the top of the tree.
Sheffield Wednesday, meanwhile, have not progressed beyond the second tier since the 2000-01 season. They were promoted to the Championship last season after back-to-back seasons in League One. Their last second division campaign wasn't a memorable one as they finished in the bottom five, but they have been massive improvements this season with the team sitting in the top half of the standings.
Burnley vs Sheffield Wednesday Betting Tips: Under 2.5 goals
Burnley have relied heavily on their defence in recent weeks, with the hosts taking a run of eleven consecutive Championship clean sheets into Friday's game. Six of those encounters ended in a goalless draw and I fancy a similar result on Friday.
Sheffield Wednesday are not a free-flowing side in the final third. They scored in all of their last six matches, but half of those games ended with under two goals. Danny Rooney's side have also been defensively solid on the road lately, keeping a clean sheet in each of their last two away outings.
- Best Tip: Under 2.5 goals
- Burnley vs Sheffield Wednesday prediction: 0-0

Burnley head coach Scott Parker will again be without the services of Aaron Ramsey and Benson Manuel this week due to knee and Achilles tendon injuries.
The pair is being accompanied in the treatment room by Mike Trésor and Josh Laurent who are also dealing with muscle and ankle injuries respectively.

Sheffield Wednesday team news
As for Sheffield Wednesday, Akin Famewo – who has missed the last 24 games with a muscle injury – is the only injury concern.
Head coach Danny Rooney is expected to make alterations to the side that was on the pitch from kick-off in the defeat to Coventry last weekend.
Having been withdrawn at the start of the second half in that game, midfielder Svante Ingelsson is among those expected to be demoted to the bench this week.
