Interestingly, the FA Cup tie between Brighton and Chelsea from last weekend was the last game for both sides. In that match, Brighton used the advantage of the home stadium and secured a place in the 1/8 final. Neither of the teams showed brilliant performance, and a draw was probably the most realistic outcome, but Brighton's efficiency made the difference between the two sides. 

Brighton have another solid season. They had some very bright moments, but eventually, it seems the team from Amex Stadium will likely finish the season as a mid-table team. Brighton had a strong seven-games without-defeat run in December and January, but a heavy defeat against Nottingham Forrest (7-0) questioned their abilities. Given that they won against Chelsea the week after the disappointing loss, we can count that as one terrible day. 

After two seasons without the Champions League, Chelsea's fourth position on the table after 24 league rounds gives the fans a lot of optimism. After an impressive first few months of the season, Enzo Maresca's team slowed down in form, so they won only three of the last ten matches. A loss in the cup tie against Brighton doesn't give Chelsea a lot of confidence, but they have to start winning to stay in the top four Premier League teams.

Chelsea is one of the highest-scoring teams in the Premier League, with 47 goals from 24 matches. However, Maresca's team scored only three goals in the previous five road games. Brighton struggled with scoring at the home stadium lately, too. We shouldn't expect more than three goals in the upcoming tie at Amex Stadium.
