A likely entertaining FA Cup contest takes place at the American Express Community Stadium on Saturday evening as Brighton takes on Chelsea.

Brighton vs Chelsea Betting Tips: BTTS / Over 2.5 Goals

Brighton return to action this weekend after a disastrous 7:0 defeat at Nottingham Forest last Saturday. Fabian Hürzeler´s side were overwhelmed by a rampant Forest side as they slipped to their heaviest ever EPL defeat.

The Seagulls have proven frustratingly inconsistent in recent weeks. Brighton failed to win eight successive matches before a run of three wins in a row was interrupted by back-to-back defeats against Everton and the aforementioned Forest.

Winless in each of their last five matches at the AMEX, Brighton have at least proven a reliable choice for goal chasers this season. The Seagulls saw BTTS in nine of their last 11 home fixtures.

Recent matches against Chelsea have also delivered in the goal markets. All but one of their six previous meetings saw BTTS and over 2.5 goals scored while 11 of their last 13 contests saw both teams get on the scoresheet.

Chelsea head south after a much-needed win against West Ham earlier this week. Having fallen behind to Jarrod Bowen´s first-half goal, the Blues showed their fighting spirit to secure a 2:1 comeback victory at the Bridge.

Having begun the season so strongly, Chelsea have gone off the boil in recent weeks, though, recording only three wins from their last nine matches. The Blues had won eight in a row before their recent dip in performance levels.

Like the Seagulls, BTTS has also proven a regular outcome for Enzo Maresca´s side in recent fixtures. Each of Chelsea´s last four games saw both teams score while five of their last seven away fixtures also finished with BTTS landing.

A tough match to call with both sides displaying some inconsistencies in recent weeks, I do expect both to score, while we are also likely to see a minimum of three goals scored.
