Aston Villa will be looking to continue their impressive run of form this week when they face Brighton at the Amex this week.
Brighton had the chance to set up what could have been an intriguing FA Cup semi-final between these two sides when they hosted Forest last time out. It wasn't to be as the Seagulls were knocked out on penalties after a goalless draw. But Fabian Hürzeler's men extended their unbeaten run to eight matches and will be buoyed by the fact that they have won each of their last three Premier League games at home.
Aston Villa meanwhile continued their impressive run of form when they visited Preston in the FA Cup quarter-finals on Sunday afternoon. A brace from Rashford and a goal from Jacob Ramsey ensured victory, sending Emery and Co. to Wembley and also extended their winning streak to five games.
Brighton vs Aston Villa Betting Tips: Over 2.5 goals
Brighton's clash with Forest last weekend ended in a goalless draw, but that was a rare occurrence as it was the only game in the last nine for the Seagulls to end with less than three goals scored.
Villa's recent games on the road have also been entertaining, with their 3-0 win over Preston last time out the third of their last four away games to end with more than 2.5 goals.
Another recent reason to expect goals in this fixture is the fact that league meetings between Brighton and Aston Villa have a history of being entertaining. Four of the last five ended with three or more goals, and I expect a similar result this week.
- Best Tip: Over 2.5 goals
- Brighton vs Aston Villa prediction: 2-2
