Monaco will be looking for a win that will see them maintain grip of second place when they visit Brest on Saturday evening.

Brest have not been able to replicate last year's campaign. The Pirates finished third behind PSG and Monaco with the second-fewest defeats (7) in the league, but they have already been on the losing side 11 times this season. However, Eric Roy's side have gathered some momentum of late, going unbeaten in three games and they beat Toulouse 4-2 on the road last weekend.

Monaco have also been in fine form in the French top flight of late. Les Rouge et Blanc went into the international break on a three-match unbeaten run and extended that run by coming from a goal down to beat Nice 2-1 last weekend.

Brest vs Monaco Betting Tips: Monaco to win & Over 2.5 goals

The hosts will be motivated by their win over Tououse last weekend, but I don't expect them to repeat that performance against Monaco on Saturday. Brest have lost each of the last six meetings between these two sides and have also struggled in recent games at this ground, winning just one of their last seven.

While I am backing Monaco to take all three points, they are unlikely to keep a clean sheet as the visitors have not been solid defensively in recent months. Adi Hütter's side have kept two clean sheets in their last 12 matches, with nine of those games ending with three or more goals scored.

  • Best Tip: Over 2.5 goals
  • Brest vs Monaco prediction: 1-2

Brest team news

Brest will be without the services of left-back Bradley Locko, who has missed the last 41 matches with an Achilles tendon injury.

The Pirates' injury list also includes Ibrahim Salah, Soumaïla Coulibaly, Brendan Chardonnet, Jordan Amavi and Jonas Martin.

But there is good news for head coach Éric Roy as Massadio Haïdara will be available selection after serving his one match ban for the red card against Reims.

Monaco team news

Jordan Teze has missed Monaco's last 11 games with a torn thigh muscle and Saturday's game will come too soon for the right-back.

Teze is joined in the treatment room by Soungoutou Magassa and Kassoum Ouattara, who are nursing facial fractures and calf injuries respectively.
