Manchester City will be looking to register four wins in a row for the first time since October when they take on Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium on Wednesday evening.
Brentford welcomed Championship side Plymouth Argyle to this ground last weekend, with the hopes of reaching the fourth round of the FA Cup for the first time in three seasons. The Bees suffered a shock 1-0 defeat to Plymouth Argyle, but many of their big names weren't in the XI. Head coach Thomas Frank will also take heart from the fact that his side have the second-best home record in the English Premier League this season. Brentford have picked up 22 points at home, only leaders Liverpool (23) have taken more.
Manchester City's draw with Everton on Boxing Day reinforced the notion that their dominance could be coming to an end. The Citizens sit outside the top five in the league and have taken just eight points from their six Champions League games this season. Pep's men have regained some momentum in recent games though, beating the likes of Leicester City, West Ham and Salford City — and will be looking to continue that run against the Bees.
Brentford vs Manchester City Betting Tips: City to win
Whilst Brentford have been good to watch at the Gtech Community Stadium this season, they are starting to look a bit shaky, having lost their last three home games and we could see that run continuing on Wednesday.
Manchester City are renowned for finding their form in the second half of the season. They take a three-match winning streak into this clash and also won each of their last three meetings with the Bees.
- Best Tip: City to win
- Brentford vs Manchester City prediction: 1-2
