Crystal Palace will be looking to build on their impressive form towards the end of last season when they travel to the Gtech Community Stadium for their Premier League clash with Brentford this weekend.
The hosts narrowly avoided relegation last season. Thomas Frank's side finished the 2023-24 campaign just two places above the relegation zone, their lowest finish in three seasons. Bryan Mbeumo's injury and Ivan Toney's 10-month ban played their part in a poor campaign for the Bees.
Crystal Palace meanwhile hit form when it mattered most last season. Meetings between Brentford and the Eagles are synonymous with draws. All but one of their last six Premier League meetings have been draws and my prediction is for a similar result when they meet at Brentford on Sunday.
The Bees kept just one clean sheet in their final five games of last season and those defensive problems continued into the pre-season. Thomas Frank's men conceded a goal in each of their five pre-season games and bets on 'btts - yes' won in all five.
The same can be said for Palace. The Eagles failed to keep a clean sheet in pre-season, conceding seven goals in five games and I think that run will continue on Sunday.
