Brazil are the most successful team at the World Cup with five titles. However, they have one of the worst qualification campaigns, and there is a small possibility that the South American giant will miss the most important competition for the national teams. Six teams from CONMEBOL will get the direct spot at World Cup 2026, and Brazil are fourth with only two points more than the seventh, Venezuela. Although Dorival Junior's team struggled so far, there are nine rounds more, and it is hard to imagine Brazil failing so many times. 

Brazil won only two of the last five matches, including the previous Copa America. In the last match, they won 2-1 on the road against Chile. Brazil was close to dropping points again, but Luiz Henrique scored the game-winning goal late in the second half, so Brazil will welcome Peru in the next round with much more confidence. 

Peru have played at only one World Cup in the last 38 years. After nine rounds in the current campaign, Jorge Fossati's team has only six points, and if La Blanquirroja continues like this, they will miss another big tournament. Peru were without a win in the World Cup qualifications until the last round, when they won 1-0 at home against Uruguay. Fossati's team was close to the sixth draw in the campaign, but Miguel Araujo scored late in the game and gave his team hope for the future. 

Brazil vs Peru pick: Under 2.5 goals

Both teams have huge problems in the attack. Brazil scored only four goals in the last five matches, while Peru scored only three in the previous eight games. Under 2.5 goals should be the best bet for this tie.
