Bosnia and Herzegovin return to Zenica on Monday with spirits buoyed by a superb 1:0 win in Romania on Friday evening. 

After a miserable run of form which had seen the home side fail to win any of 12 previous matches since October 2023, Armin Gigovic´s first international goal secured a priceless victory in Bucharest. 

Having picked up a 1:1 Nations League draw against Netherlands in November, Bosnia and Herzegovina are now unbeaten in their last two matches after losing ten of 11 previous fixtures.

Now returning to home comforts, the Dragons will be confident of making it two wins from two against a Cyprus side that have a terrible away record in qualification matches.

The Cypriots come into Monday's contest after a hard-fought 2:0 win against underdogs San Marino on Friday. Apostolos Mantzios´s side needed 55 minutes to break the deadlock before  Andronikos Kakoullis´s 86th minute goal secured the points. 

While that victory ensured back-to-back home wins for the first time since 2017, Cyprus away record suggests it could be a tough night for the visitors. Manzio´s men lost 15 of their last 16 away World Cup qualifiers, while they have not won a competitive road fixture in World Cup or European Championship qualification games since a 2:1 win in Kazakhstan six years ago.

In the end, I expect a Bosnian side with renewed confidence to claim the points on Monday. A home win is my best bet, with the hosts like to score two or more en-route to victory.
