Bochum have endured a miserable Bundesliga campaign with the hosts picking up just two points from 12 games played. Already nine points short of safety, the hosts are badly in need of a win and they may well see this fixture as an ideal opportunity. 

Dieter-Klaus Hecking´s side slipped to back-to-back defeats at Augsburg and Stuttgart in their two most recent league matches, however they did claim a fine 1:1 draw against champions Leverkusen in their last outing at Vonovia Ruhrstadion.

Goals can usually be expected at this venue with Bochum usually performing a little better in front of their own support. Ten of their last 13 home Bundesliga games saw BTTS.

Visiting Werder Bremen make the trip to Bochum having won only one of their last five Bundesliga matches. Ole Werner´s men were held to a 2:2 draw against Stuttgart last weekend after slipping to a 1:0 defeat at Eintracht Frankfurt in their last away outing.

While Bremen drew a blank in that fixture, the away side are usually a reliable choice for goal chasers. Die Werderaner saw both teams score in six of their last seven Bundesliga road games since May. 

Previous meetings between these sides also produced goals with five of their last seven encounters seeing BTTS. Werder claimed a 1:1 draw on their last visit to this venue at the start of the year, and a similar outcome seems likely on Saturday.
