Championship action takes place at Ewood Park on Wednesday evening as Blackburn takes on Portsmouth.

Blackburn vs Portsmouth Betting Tips - Blackburn to Win

Two sides short on recent winning form square-off in Lancashire this week as Blackburn and Portsmouth battle it out at Ewood Park.

Blackburn broke their five-game winless streak with a hard-fought 1:0 FA Cup win at Middlesbrough on Saturday. Andy Weimann´s second-half goal secured a first Rovers win since mid-December.

John Eustace´s side had enjoyed an impressive six-game winning run before their recent dip in form, and having picked up a cup victory over the weekend, will be keen to reignite their promotion hopes on Wednesday. Placed seventh in the division, the Rovers sit just one point outside the promotion playoff spots.

Portsmouth make the long trip north to Lancashire after a desperately disappointing 2:0 FA Cup defeat at Wycombe on Saturday. John Mousinho´s side have now lost four of their last five matches across all competitions.

On the road, Pompey have really struggled upon their return to England´s second tier. Pompey won just one of 13 away Championship games this season, while they slipped to defeat in five of their last six road games since the start of November.

While Blackburn are hardly in the best of form, Saturday´s cup victory should propel the hosts to a more improved level of performance this week. With Portsmouth´s morale further damaged from their cup exit at Wycombe, I expect the home side to regain winning form at Ewood Park.

A home win is my only choice for Wednesday's Championship encounter
