- Competition: Ligue 2
- Date: Monday, 14th April 2025
- Kickoff: 19:45 UK / 20:45 CEST
- Venue: Stade Armand Cesari (Bastia)
For some part of the season, Bastia hoped they were capable of finishing in the promotion playoff zone and competing for a return to Ligue 1 since relegation in 2017. With five games left and seven points fewer, Bastia still has chances, but it is more realistic to finish as a mid-table team. The team from Corsica hasn't impressed lately, with only two wins in the previous five matches. In the last game, Bastia played 1-1 on the road vs Annecy. The guests should have done more in that match, especially because the home side had ten players down for the whole second half after a red card in the first half's stoppage time.
Laval have slightly better chances of reaching the promotion playoff, as they are five points behind the desired position. However, Laval haven't played well lately, with two defeats in the previous two games. In the last Ligue 2 round, Olivier Frapolli's team lost 2-1 at home against Grenoble. That match was fairly even, but the guest's better efficiency decided the winner. With that defeat, Laval's chances of winning promotion probably sailed away.
Bastia vs Laval pick: Under 2.5 goals
Bastia scored only ten goals in the last 12 matches. On the other hand, Laval scored six goals in the previous eight games. We shouldn't expect more than two goals in the upcoming tie.

Bastia team news
Bastia won only one point against Annecy, and the head coach, Benoit Tavenot, wasn't satisfied. He said, "We were probably lacking legs. But I don't think we were lacking desire. We made do with what we had at the time. The reality is that we can't manage to play two high-level matches in a row in terms of intensity. Annecy is the team that runs the most in this championship, and I think they finished tired. But technically, we have to do more. We have to let loose. It really wasn't a good match."
Bastia have some injury problems. They will be without Zakaria Ariss, Tom Ducrocq, Juan Guevara, and Lisandru Tramoni on Monday against Laval.

Laval team news
Laval's head coach, Olivier Frapolli, was disappointed after his team lost against Genoble. He said, "We feel frustrated because I think we got off to a good start. We scored a very nice goal. I was starting to get worked up on the bench because I thought we stopped playing at a certain point instead of continuing to focus on the details. We were not in too much danger, but we didn't have the will to score the second goal. It's a mistake."
Laval's Anthony Goncalves got a red card late in the previous round and will not play on Monday in Bastia. He will join William Bianda, Lois Martins, Peter Quaneh, Sam Sanna, Yohan Tavares, and Jordan Tell, who are already unavailable.
