Palmeiras will be looking to keep alive their hopes of retaining their Serie A title on Wednesday night when they face Bahia away from home.
Bahia were last in action over a week ago when they travel to Juventude for Matchday 33 of the 2024 Brazilian top flight campaign. The Tricolors went ahead through Souza with just two minutes on the clock, but couldn’t hold on to that lead as they ended up losing 2-1.
Rogério Ceni’s side have now lost each of their last three games and are winless in the last five. However, home fans will take heart ahead of Wednesday’s game from the fact that Bahia won their last meeting with Palmeiras at this ground.
Palmeira meanwhile ended a two games winless streak with a 1-0 win over Gremio two weeks ago. That victory took the visitors to just four points off the top and another win on Wednesday will put plenty of pressure on Botafogo ahead of their clash on Thursday.
