Bahia are playing one of their best season in a very long time. In the 21st century, they were either outside the Serie A or in the lower part of the Brazilian top-flight division. This year started pretty well for the Tricolor as they reached the finals in their state league (Baiano) and then continued to play well in Serie A. Right now, they are 4th with 30 points, only one point from the top spot. So, depending on the other results, Bahia could even get the spot with a potential win over out-of-form Cuiaba.
