AVS will be looking for a win that could take them off the bottom three when they play host to Gil Vicente on Monday night.

The hosts are not having the debut campaign they would have liked in the Portuguese top flight. Daniel Ramos' side sit second from bottom and boast just two wins from their 18 league games this season. They also go into Monday's game on a 12-game winless run, but will take heart from the fact that all of their two victories this term have come at home.

Gil Vicente have been in fine form in 2025, with the Trobadour are unbeaten in seven games in all competitions, picking up four wins and three draws. One of those victories came last weekend at the Estádio Cidade de Barcelos, where they beat Porto for the first time since 2023. However, the fact that Bruno Pinheiro's side have not won consecutive league games this season will be a cause for concern ahead of the trip to AVS.

AVS vs Gil Vicente Betting Tips: Under 2.5 goals

The only recent meeting between AVS and Gil Vicente was the reverse fixture in August, which ended 4:2 in Gil Vicente's favour. The away side will fancy themselves to register another win on Monday, and even if that happens I am not expecting many goals this time.

AVS conceded under one goal in six of their last seven matches and as many games ended with under 2.5 goals. Gil Vicente’s recent games across all competitions were not very entertaining, with all but one of the last six ending with fewer than three goals.

  • Best Tip: Under 2.5 goals
  • AVS vs Gil Vicente prediction: 0-1

Gil Vicente

Gil Vicente team news

Yaya Sithole has not featured for Gil Vicente since September due to a tibia fracture and Monday’s trip to Estádio do Desportivo das Aves will come too soon for the midfielder.

Having netted his first goal of the campaign in the win over Porto last time out, Pablo is expected to keep his place in the final third and could is set to be joined by Correia and Touré.
