Porto will have the opportunity to register a fourth straight win across all competitions on Monday night when they face AVS at Estádio do Desportivo das Aves.

AVS secured their first ever promotion to the top flight through the Play-offs last season and seem to be making good use of the opportunity. Vítor Campelos’ side currently sit in tenth place and enter Monday’s game with a run of three consecutive games without defeat, registering two draws and one win. This is against the odds as many ranked them as one of the favourites for relegation.

They host a Porto side that have been unlucky when it comes to winning the Primeira Liga in the last two seasons. 85 points weren’t enough to win the title in the 2022-23 campaign and last season Vítor Bruno’s side finished third with 72 points. The Dragons boast seven wins from their eight league games so far this season but sit in second due to Sporting CP’s 100% record.

AVS Futebol SAD vs FC Porto Betting Tips: Porto to win & over 2.5 goals

While AVS are yet to suffer a home defeat this season and all their two league wins so far came at home, they will fancy their chances of getting at least a point from Monday’s game, but have just been too good this season.

The visitors boast at least two goals from each of their last eight games across all competitions and that run includes a 3-3 draw with Premier League side United in the Europa League. All but one of the eight encounters finished with three or more goals.

  • Best Tip: Over 2.5 goals
  • AVS Futebol SAD vs FC Porto prediction: 1-3

AVS Futebol SAD team news

Young goalkeeper Lucas Moura will again be unavailable to AVS head coach Vítor Campelos on Monday due to injury.

Moura has missed the last nine games due to a shoulder injury suffered back in August and he isn’t the hosts’ only injury concern.

Brazilian professional Nene is nursing a muscle injury that will see him remain unavailable for the next two to three weeks.

FC Porto team news

Porto head coach Vítor Bruno is set to be without the services of centre-back Iván Marcano on Monday due to injury.

Ivan has missed over 50 games with a cruciate ligament injury suffered in September last year, but the defender is the only injury concern for the Dragons.

Three reasons we expect Porto to win this game

  1. Porto have failed to win just one of their eight league games this season.
  2. AVS have won just one of their last five Primeira Liga encounters.
  3. Porto won their last three games across all competitions.
