In the last game of the EURO 1/8 Finals, Austria and Turkey will face off at Red Bull Arena in Leipzig.

Before the start of the tournament, few expected Austria to win the really tough group D with France, Netherlands, and Poland, especially after losing the first game against France 1:0. However, they managed to do it after winning the following two games and are now the bookies favor them to advance to the next stage of the tournament over Turkey. If they reach the 1/4 Finals, that would be their biggest success ever on EURO. Currently, Austria is the 8th favorite to win the title, with odds around 17.

Turkey excelled in the Qualifiers, finishing at the top of their group in front of one of the better national teams in the World in recent years, Croatia. In EURO, although they secured six points and a spot in the knockout phase, their performance was not particularly impressive. That was especially true in the last game against the Czech Republic, where they barely won despite having an extra player for most of the match. In contrast to Austria, Turkey has a high odds of 65 to win the EURO title.

Even before the EURO started, Austria were excellent in the friendlies, beating teams like Germany, Serbia, Slovakia, and Turkey. In the EURO, Austria lost their first match 1:0 against France but definitely did not disappoint. After a loss, they were excellent against Poland and Netherlands while scoring six goals in total! As we said, these teams met in the EURO preparation period back in March 2024. In that match, Austria simply hammered Turkey, winning 6:1, although at the home stadium in Vienna. Considering all the above, we believe the Austrians are much closer to winning the upcoming game.
