The Düsseldorf Arena is the host for the final game of day four in Euro 2024 as an in-form Austria takes on tournament favourites France.

Set for their third successive appearance at the European Championships, Austria come into this year's competition in great form under former Manchester Utd and RB Leipzig boss, Ralph Rangnick. 

Unbeaten in 15 of their last 16 matches, Austria won six successive matches between November and June, before a 1:1 draw against Switzerland in their final preparation fixture. With victories against Serbia, Turkey, Germany and Italy all achieved during their impressive run of form, the Austrians have plenty of reason to be confident, even in a tough section containing the French, Netherlands and Poland.

Strong on the front foot with a well-deployed forward press, the Austrians have scored 15 goals in their last six matches, including six in a brilliant win against Turkey in March. It is worth noting that Rangnick´s side have scored at least one goal in their last 17 matches since a 2:0 defeat against France in the Nations League almost two years ago.

The French arrive in Germany in less than consistent form, but still considered by many to be the favourites to lift the title in July. Didier Deschamps' side have failed to win three of their last five matches, including a 0:0 draw with Canada in their final preparation fixture.

France did sail through their qualifying campaign, dropping points only in their final match against Greece, when qualification had already been assured. However, they have kept just two clean sheets in their last eight matches at the European Championships since 2016.

While Deschamps side are justified favourites to win on Monday, Austria´s confidence and ability to counter-press should make this a competitive fixture in Dusseldorf. I expect BTTS and wouldn't be surprised to see the underdogs take a positive result.
