On the night between Wednesday and Thursday, Atletico MG and Gremio will face off against each other in the Serie A at MRV Arena in Belo Horizonte.
Atletico Mineiro have been among the best teams in Brazil in recent years, even winning the title in the 2021 season. The team's best goalkeeper, Everson, received a red card in the previous game against Vitoria and will be unavailable for the match against Gremio. With him suspended, Matheus Mendes will probably start as he did in the first part of the season when Ederson was out with a finger injury. The team's starting central defender in the previous four games, Gustavo Martins, suffered an injury in the previous match against Fortaleza and had to leave the field in the 31st minute. Considering that two other center-backs, Jemerson and Rodrigo Ely, are injured, it is a big problem for Gremio.
Additionally, goalkeeper Caique also left the field a few minutes before the end of the game and is questionable for the upcoming game. But luckily, Agustin Marchesin served his one-game suspension and will be available.
