- Venue: Villa Park
Aston Villa will be looking to keep alive their hopes of European football qualification on Saturday when they welcome struggling Chelsea to Villa Park.
Wins have been hard to come by for Villa in recent weeks. The Villans go into Saturday's game on a run of five consecutive Premier League games without a win (one defeat & four draws). Unai Emery's side did manage a couple of victories during that spell, beating Celtic 4-2 in the Champions League and Tottenham in the fourth round of the FA Cup. Villa fans will also be pleased that their side avoided defeat against Arsenal and Liverpool in that spell.
Chelsea looked like title contenders in December when they were on an eighth game winning streak and unbeaten in 12. That form quickly disappeared as defeats to Fulham and Ipswich Town were followed by successive draws and the Blues have lost three of their last four games.
Aston Villa vs Chelsea Betting Tips: Over 2.5 goals
Villa have changed their centre-back pairing in each of their last three games and it doesn't seem to be working. Indeed, the Lions kept just one clean sheet in their last 15 games in all competitions and shipped eight goals in the last five. All but one of their nine home games in that period have produced over 2.5 goals.
Chelsea are also struggling defensively at the moment with Enzo Maresca's side failing to keep a clean sheet in their last six games. All six of those games produced three or more goals and I fancy a similar result on Saturday.
- Best Tip: Over 2.5 goals
- Aston Villa vs Chelsea prediction: 2-2
