Another entertaining EPL encounter seems likely to take place at Villa Park on Monday with two of the division's most attractive sides facing off at Villa Park.
Aston Villa return to home comforts after a disastrous 3:0 defeat at Newcastle last week. Jhon Duran´s first-half red card proved decisive as the Magpies eased to a comfortable win at St James's Park.
After last season's Champions League qualification heroics, the Villains have struggled to find similar levels of consistency in the EPL. Unai Emery´s side won three of four previous matches before their defeat at Newcastle having previously failed to win any of their last six EPL outings.
As a consequence of their up and down form, Villa sit ninth in the division, two points ahead of the visitors.
The Seagulls arrive in Birmingham after a frustrating goalless draw against Brentford on Thursday. Despite creating numerous opportunities, Brighton fans were left disappointed as Brentford held on for a precious point. Fabian Hürzeler´s side now find themselves 10th in the EPL but only three points behind fifth-placed Newcastle.
Usually an exciting side to watch, Brighton have been one of the most reliable sides for goal chasers this season, with all but two of their last 16 matches seeing BTTS. Eight of their last ten road games saw the same outcome, while they have not failed to score in their last ten away EPL matches. The Seagulls crashed to a 6:1 defeat on their last visit to this venue, and while a similar outcome seems unlikely, we can be confident that both teams will score in a high-scoring contest on Monday.
