An improving Roma return to the Stadio Olimpico on Friday evening when they host a tough-to-beat Genoa in a Serie A contest.
AS Roma vs Genoa Betting Tips: Roma to Win / Under 3.5 Goals
An engaging, competitive but potentially low-scoring encounter could be on the cards when Roma take on Genoa this weekend.
Following the return to Rome of prodigal son Claudio Ranieri as head coach for a third stint, I Giallorossi have enjoyed a fine run of form. Unbeaten in seven of their last eight matches, a Rome-derby win against Lazio and a hard-earned 2:2 draw at Champions League qualifiers Bologna tells the story of a much-improved recent run of performances under the legendary former Leicester City boss.
Prior to their recent uptick in performance, Roma had endured a dismal run of form, failing to win ten of 12 games played between October and December.
Genoa arrives in Italy´s capital having also delivered a strong run of results in recent weeks. The Griffin have lost just one of their last ten matches, with four wins and five draws picked up during that period.
Unbeaten in their last five on the road, Genoa are sure to present a tough challenge to Ranieri´s improving Roma. However, the H2H record in this fixture is worth considering. Roma won 16 of 18 previous meetings between these sides in Rome since 1994. It is also worth noting that only three goals were scored in their four previous encounters at the Olimpico.
Ultimately, Genoa have enough defensive strength to make this a tough night for Roma, but given their renewed confidence, I expect the hosts to edge their way to victory.
A home win with under 3.5 goals scored could prove the value bet on Friday evening.

Genoa team news
Genoa boss Patrick Vieira is likely to keep faith with much of the same XI that edged past Parma last weekend.
The visitors have several injury issues with Milan Badelj, Vítinha, Caleb Ansah Ekuban, Ruslan Volodymyrovych Malinovskyi and Honest Ahanor all likely to miss out.
