A strong looking Argentina U23 squad kick-off their bid for Olympic gold in northern France in what should prove a competitive contest in Group B.

Paired together with Iraq and Ukraine, both nations will know the importance of getting their tournament off to a winning start at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard.

Argentina U23 come into this competition protecting a seven-game unbeaten record from the CONMEBOL Pre-Olympic Tournament earlier this year. Argentina won three and drew four games, including a 1:0 win against Brazil in their most recent outing in February.

Led by Javier Mascherano, the U23 side includes a number of emerging talents, including Botafogo´s new big money signing, Thiago Almada. With a strong record over the past year, the Argentine faithful will expect a win in Saint-Etienne on Wednesday.

Of course, Morocco are unlikely to prove easy to beat, although this side have less recent experience than their South American counterparts. The Atlas Lions lost three of their last U23 contests, including against both of their Group B rivals Iraq and Ukraine.
