Algeria will be looking to continue their fine form since the start of 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying on Sunday evening when they play host to Liberia on Sunday afternoon.

The hosts are on course to finish top of their AFON qualifying group for the sixth consecutive time. Vladimir Petković's men began the competition with four straight wins, beating Togo twice and also getting the better of Equatorial Guinea and Liberia. The Desert Foxes were held to a goalless draw by Equatorial Guinea in their last outing, but a win this weekend will see them take sixteen points in back to back editions of AFCON qualification.

Liberia meanwhile have only qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations on two occasions. The last time the nation did so was in 2022 and their current position in Group E suggests that the wait for another opportunity could continue. The Lone Stars have taken just four points from their five games so far, with four points separating them from second-placed Equatorial Guinea.

Algeria vs Liberia Betting Tips: Over 2.5 goals

Liberia are struggling in defence at the moment. The midweek win over Togo was the first time in seven games that Thomas Kojo's men had kept a clean sheet. Two of their last four have produced at least three goals.

One could argue that none of Algeria's last two AFCON qualifiers produced more than two goals, but things often turn out differently Les Fennecs play at home. All but one of the Algerians' last four matches on home soil ended with at least three goals and I fancy a similar result on Sunday.
