On Saturday afternoon, two out-of-form teams, Alaves and Rayo Vallecano, will face off in the 29th round of La Liga at Estadio Mendizorrotza in Vitoria-Gasteiz.

Alaves secured promotion to the Spanish top-flight division in the 2022/23 season and had an excellent following year, finishing 10th - nowhere near the relegation zone. Unfortunately, they failed to build on that success and are desperately trying to survive this year. The Basque team is in 17th place with 27 poi,nts and only a better goal difference than Leganes is keeping them out of the danger zone.

Rayo Vallecano had two good seasons in 2021/22 and 2022/23 under coach Inigio Perez. However, after he left, they had a difficult one last year, barely securing survival. This year, despite currently being on a five-game winless run, "Los Franjirrojos" are in 9th place. Depending on the Cup results, they could secure Europe from seventh place, which is only three points away.

Alaves vs Rayo Vallecano pick: Both teams to score

Alaves are in pretty poor form, having won just once in the last eight games. However, they are scoring pretty regularly and have done so in five of those eight games. So, scoring at home against out-of-form Rayo should be a lock.

Rayo have been excellent for this bet lately, considering both teams scored in the last three of their games. They managed to score goals vs Sevilla and Real Madrid and two against Real Sociedad, so scoring at least once vs Alaves is a pretty real scenario. Additionally, away from home, they have scored in 13 out of 18 road games - 72%.

Considering all the above, we firmly believe both teams will score at least once in this La Liga tie.
