Alaves had a very good last season, finishing 10th, nowhere close to the danger zone. Unfortunately, they failed to build on that success and are once again looking like a relegation candidate. They are now in 16th place with 17 points from 18 matches and are two points away from the danger zone. While they had some good wins over the season, like the ones against Mallorca and Real Sociedad, they are now struggling and have not won in the last seven games. They even suffered elimination from the Cup by Deportiva Minera - a fourth-tier team.

Girona came to this season after a historic one where they came fairly close to even winning the title and secured the Champions League. Unfortunately, they are not close to repeating such success as they are in 8th place with 25 points - 11 points away from the Champions League spots and five away from Europe. In the CL, they also struggle and will most likely fail to secure the next phase of the competition. Just like Alaves, Girona also suffered elimination in the domestic cup by a fourth-tier team (Logrones).

Alaves vs Girona pick: Both teams to score

Alaves have been great for this type of bet lately, with their last six games in all competitions finishing with both teams scoring. Also, at home, Alaves have scored at least one goal in six out of eight home games - 75%. So, scoring a goal against out-of-form Girona shouldn't be a problem.

Girona stopped their five-game unbeaten run with a 3:0 win over Real Valladolid in the last game. Most of those bad results came against good teams. Against teams from the bottom six spots, they have been excellent, winning four out of five games while scoring 12 goals - 2.4 per game. So, it is fair to expect at least a goal against Alaves.
