La Liga passed only one half of the season, but it is clear that Alaves and Celta Vigo could have problems with avoiding relegation. Alaves are only one point above the drop zone, while Celta have four points more than their next opponent. The next game could be of big importance for both sides. 

Alaves have been on a terrible run lately, as they have not won eight straight games in all competitions. Last weekend, they finally secured the first victory after more than two months when they won 3-1 on the road against Betis. The home side was the favorite to win, but the guests showed more, especially after Romain Perraud's red card and won all three points. 

Celta Vigo played solidly in December, but they lost the last three games in a row in all competitions. Now, Claudio Giraldez's team needs one good result to restore confidence. In the previous La Liga round, Celta lost 2-1 at home against Athletic Bilbao. The home side finished the match with an xG of 0.59, while the guests had 1.83, so it is no wonder that Celta Vigo stayed handed.
