Egypt´s in-form Premier League sides Al Ahly and Pyramids FC square-off in an intriguing top-of-the-table clash at Cairo International Stadium on Friday evening.

A high-quality and hugely competitive contest is expected this weekend with both teams coming into Friday's Premier League contest in superb winning form. 

Hosts Al Ahly, currently second in the table, 11 points behind Pyramids but with four games in hand on the league leaders, have claimed victory in each of their last nine matches and in 14 of their last 15 games played since the back-end of April.

At the Cairo International Stadium, Marcel Koller´s side have been equally impressive, scoring wins in 14 of their last 15 games played since November last year. Al Ahly scored an average of 2.6 goals in those matches. 

Still, despite their imperious form, the hosts can expect a stiff test on Friday with Pyramids also boasting a sensational run of winning results. Krunoslav Jurčić´s side have claimed victory in each of their last 14 matches played since the start of April. Pyramids netted an average of 2.4 goals in a brilliant sequence of wins. 

On their travels, Jurcic´s men have now won each of their last nine away matches and with that form, will feel confident of taking something against their title rivals.

With both teams in such good form, it's tough to pick a winner on Friday. However, I do expect both teams to get on the scoresheet, in what should prove a fascinating tussle between two in-form sides.

Al Ahly scored at least one goal in their last 15 home fixtures, while Pyramids have bagged in each of their last nine on the road.

BTTS is my top choice in a game that could also see at least three goals scored.
