AFC Wimbledon were relegated from League One in 2021/22 and were close to suffering another relegation the following year. Still, they now look consolidated as they finished tenth last year, missing the playoffs by five points. This year, their goal is to finally reach the playoffs, and we can safely say they are on the path of doing so. They are in 10th place with 22 points - three points away from the playoff spots but with three games played less than most teams in the league. With a couple of good results, "The Dons" could even move to the top three spots.
Meanwhile, Accrington were relegated from League One in 2022/23 and finished 17th last year in League Two. This season, "The 'Owd Reds" had an atrocious start and spent most of their time in the danger zone. However, with few good results lately, they moved to 18th place and are now five points away from the relegation zone. Even though they are in 18th place, the Playoff spots aren't too far away, and with a good mini-run, they would greatly close the gap. However, their schedule is really tough because after meeting AFC Wimbledon, they will face two good teams - Bradford City and Grimsby.
AFC Wimbledon vs Accrington pick: Over 2.5 goals
The main reason why AFC Wimbledon aren't higher on the league's table is their poor road record. At home, they are doing great in the league, winning five out of six games and scoring 15 goals - 2.5 per game! So scoring at least a couple of goals shouldn't be a problem against anyone.
Accrington are in good form. They won three and drew two in the last five matches in all competitions. They have been really good offensively in those games and scored two or more goals in four out of those five games. Also, Accrington are the best team in the league for this type of bet, as 67% of their games (10 out of 15) finished with three or more goals.
In the previous two h2h games at The Cherry Red Records Stadium, we saw six and seven goals! Considering the previous h2h games and all the above, we expect a high-scoring game, most likely with both teams scoring.

AFC Wimbledon team news
After a 3:1 win over Barrow in the last game, coach Johnnie Jackson spoke to the media. The coach said it was a balanced game, but luckily, they had moments of quality in the second half and took all three points. He also said they are a good team and that the lack of games played gives a false perspective of where they are on the league's table.

Accrington team news
After a 2:2 draw in the previous game against Swindon, coach John Doolan spoke to the media. He said he couldn't ask more from the lads and that his mantra is "If you can't win a game, don't lose it." The coach said they should have put the game to bed after the first half because they had so many chances but failed to do so. "For 70 minutes, we were very good, but we've got to be more clinical," the coach added.
