Bonus offers and promotions at Pinnacle

7/10

The first area that our experts checked out for this Pinnacle review was the bonus and promotions section. What we found was a little surprising compared to what we have seen elsewhere.

Welcome bonus

We found that Pinnacle’s welcome offer doesn’t extend to sportsbook users. If you’re keen to claim an offer, you may want to look at the casino section. Here, you can claim 200 free spins by depositing at least $25.

As with any welcome bonus, we always recommend that you check out the terms and conditions so that you can be sure of exactly what’s involved.

Ongoing promotions

It was a first for us to find that there were no ongoing promotions at Pinnacle. While this may sound like bad news, there are reasons for this. As you read on, you’ll find that Pinnacle’s sportsbook offers the most competitive odds out there. This means that, justifiably, this site doesn’t feel the need to provide continual offers to keep players coming back.

Author Kate Richardson Kate Richardson

It’s a brave decision by Pinnacle to offer no bonuses at all, but I feel it’s one that they get away with. When looking at the value elsewhere, bonuses would be nice, but they’re certainly not a must.

Rewards and loyalty programs at Pinnacle

As you may expect by now, Pinnacle doesn’t offer any ongoing rewards, or a loyalty program. Again, at first glance, this may be a little disappointing but, after fully exploring the site, our experts at MightyTips don’t see this as an issue.

Pinnacle licensing and security

8/10

Next, we moved on to check the safety of the site. We found that Pinnacle is licensed to operate in Canada by the Alcohol Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO). This means that the site adheres to regulations that are all about player safety.

We also examined the privacy policy and found that this sets out how all of your details are kept secure. On top of this, Pinnacle’s website also has SSL encryption in place that protects your transactions.

The Pinnacle user experience

9/10

We spent around 3 days exploring the site and we found that it was exceptionally easy to use. It was simple to create an account, and this took us less than a minute to do. As we went on to make our first deposit, and place our first bet, the whole process was seamless. While Pinnacle will appeal to experienced bettors, this simplicity also makes it an ideal option for newbies.

Navigation

The layout of the site makes it enjoyable to use. The menus are all clear, making it easy to find the sections that appeal. We found it simple to move between the sports section, the live betting area, and the casino. The tabs at the top, as well as the sidebar, make it all a breeze. The search function is also useful.

Design

When it comes to Pinnacle’s website design, there’s nothing that really stands out. In fact, the site looks a little dated and basic. However, what really matters here is the functionality, and this is something that we can’t fault.

We felt a little let down to see that Pinnacle’s cashout feature was non-existent and, in fact, we found that there were quite a few features lacking. We’d like to see the likes of live streams being added here.

  • Limitations
  • No live streams
  • No cashout feature

Mobile betting at Pinnacle

7/10

If you’re looking for Pinnacle’s mobile app, this is something that’s missing. Given how long the operator has been running now, it appears unlikely that this is something that will be added in the future. However, that doesn’t mean that you can’t bet on the go.

Our experts were impressed with the mobile experience. The site is fully optimised to work across smartphones and tablets, no matter what the operating system. The features found on the website are all present on the smaller screen, and everything works as it should.

  • Android app: No
  • iOS app: No

Pinnacle’s payment methods

8/10

The next stage of our Pinnacle review was to look at the payment methods on offer. We were looking for methods that are secure as well as fast. Here’s what we found:

Deposits

When looking to fund your Pinnacle account, you’re limited to just 4 options. These are Visa, Interac, MuchBetter, and Instadebit. While these methods are all known for their security, it would have been good to have a wide selection. The good news though is that these methods are all instant and fee-free.

  • Minimum deposit: $15
  • Maximum deposit: $7,000

Withdrawal methods

When it comes to making a withdrawal, bettors in Canada can use the same 4 options that are available for deposits. The downside here is that each of these comes with a $5 processing fee. While this is relatively low, you need to take this into account when looking at how profitable your betting is.

Looking at Pinnacle’s withdrawal times, you’ll usually see funds reach you within 24-48 hours.

  • Minimum withdrawal: $10
  • Maximum withdrawal: $20,000

Customer support at Pinnacle

8/10

We liked what we saw here at the beginning. To start with, there’s a comprehensive FAQs section, and we found that this covered most queries that a user could have. We were also impressed by the betting guides that explained the rules around each sport and went into detail about the markets. Beyond these, Pinnacle’s customer support allows you to reach out via email and live chat. We decided to try out the latter of these.

We headed to the live chat and asked a question about the betting limits. It took around 2 minutes to connect and the agent told us that they weren’t aware of the answer. They asked us to wait while they got some advice but, after 10 minutes, the live chat disconnected. It was disappointing not to get the answer we needed.

Pinnacle and sports betting

8/10

The experts at MightyTips next took a detailed look at Pinnacle’s sportsbook. Here’s a look at what we found:

Sports coverage

We found that there were 30+ sports to bet on at Pinnacle. This number meant that all of the most popular ones were covered, such as soccer, basketball, and ice hockey. Beyond these, there were also more niche betting options such as chess and face slapping.

What we liked here was the depth of coverage. Taking soccer as an example, all of the major leagues are covered, but then there are opportunities to bet on lesser-known ones, such as in Algeria and Bahrain.

It also appeared that the main focus here is on soccer and basketball. We visited the site over 3 days and always found more than 150 basketball events and 500 soccer ones to bet on.

Odds and margins

This is the area where Pinnacle excels. Looking at the odds, you’d struggle to find any other sportsbook that comes close. Bear in mind that the changes in odds aren’t displayed unless you have an account and signed in.

So how competitive is this site? Well, we found that Pinnacle’s margins came in with an average of just 2.5%. Generally, we say that 5% is hugely competitive so this really is something else. When we looked at soccer, we found that the margins went low too: from 3.5% to 4.5%. This is why Pinnacle doesn’t offer promotions: it feels that the odds are so attractive that there’s no need.

Live betting and streaming

Pinnacle’s live betting opportunities are over in a section called the Live Centre. There are plenty of betting opportunities here, covering the likes of soccer, basketball, and hockey. We liked the fact that we could view multiple events at the same time and that the odds updated in real-time. It was also good to see statistics and graphics to keep bettors up to date.

Unfortunately, Pinnacle’s live streaming feature is something that’s missing. While this will always be a letdown, the overall experience here is still a positive one.

Betting limits

Our team was frustrated that they were unable to find definitive answers here. Having look through the terms and conditions, betting rules, and FAQs, there was no sign of what the minimum bet was. What was more discouraging, we never received a response from customer support about this.

The one thing that we did find was that maximum bets vary across sports, events, and markets.

Betting markets

Pinnacle does well when it comes to the betting markets offered. Across sports and events, we found that there were usually at least 60 to bet on. Traditional markets, such as moneylines and spreads, were covered, but there were also plenty of prop bets to explore. These covered the likes of Draw No Bet and correct score.

Deposit limits

These vary depending on the deposit method that you’re using. While MuchBetter and Instadebit allow minimum deposits of $15, Visa and Interac start at $25. The maximum deposit can be found with Visa, where there’s a $7,000 limit.

Esports betting at Pinnacle

Our experts were keen to explore what Pinnacle offered in terms of esports. Here’s a look at what they found:

Range of esports

It has to be said that Pinnacle’s esports coverage isn’t the widest that we’ve seen. Whenever we logged in, we only saw opportunities to bet on Counter-strike 2, Dota 2, and League of Legends. That being said, it also lists Rainbow 6, Overwatch, Valorant, and Call of Duty as esports that are covered.

Esports odds

We have nothing but positive comments to make here. When we looked across esports events, we found that the average margins came in at just 2.9%. We’re used to seeing margins ranging from 5% to 8%, so this was something that we were extremely pleased to see.

Live betting and streaming

Pinnacle is lacking when it comes to live betting opportunities on esports. Across 3 days, we never saw more than 3 events to bet on. The last day that we logged in, there were two matches taking place in the CCT European Series 15. We were also disappointed to discover that there were no live streams here.

Esports markets

Pinnacle delivers when it comes to the range of markets for esports betting. We found that there were moneylines, handicaps, and over/under. We also found that there were plenty of options for betting on maps and first kills.

The Pinnacle casino

9/10

Like the majority of good sportsbooks, Pinnacle also has a casino section to explore. Here’s a look at what our experts came across as they examined this:

Game providers

Pinnacle’s casino is powered by just 4 providers. These are Pragmatic Play, Hacksaw Gaming, Games Global, and Relax Gaming. We’re used to seeing casinos that work with 100s of providers, so we were surprised to see just 4. However, the good news is that the providers that are featured are known for producing outstanding games.

Game variety

As we explored the games library, we found that there were around 1,000 titles to choose from. As is the norm, the main focus was on slots with around 850 of these to play. This covered classic slots, jackpots, and Megaways. Some of our favourite titles were Eye of the Panda, Sweet Bonanza, and Big Bass Splash.

We also found that there were around 40 table games. These cater for fans of blackjack, roulette, and baccarat.

Live dealer games

Our experts felt that the live casino was lacking, with around 35 tables to play at. While blackjack, roulette, and baccarat are covered, the number of variants is really lacking. We tend to enjoy game show style games in live casinos, but we found that there were only 7 of these to play.

The good news, however, is that Pragmatic Play is behind the games. This means that the quality is exceptional, with HD streams and professional dealers.

Wager limits

We were pleased to see that the live casino caters for players of all budgets. We found blackjack titles where we could bet as little as $0.10. On the other hand, there were roulette games where we could wager $10,000 on a single spin.

Final thoughts on Pinnacle

8/10

That brings us to the end of our review of Pinnacle, so it’s time for our experts at MightyTips to sum up.

Firstly, when it comes to Pinnacle’s offerings, we were initially surprised by the lack of bonuses and promotions. However, as we spent more time exploring the site, we understood that this wasn’t a real issue. That’s because Pinnacle’s specials come into play when looking at the odds. With average margins of just 2.5%, no one else can compete.

Areas that we felt let down by were the customer support and the lack of live streams. While we can cope without live streaming, improving the customer service is a must.

Overall, we’re fans of what Pinnacle has to offer. If you’re seeking bonuses you may need to look elsewhere but we’re happy to recommend this site based on the truly outstanding odds.
