Bonuses & Promotions

8/10

The bookmaker currently has four available bonuses and promotions for sports players:

  • Matching first deposit deposit
  • Free Bet
  • SecureBet
  • AccaBoost

The maximum amount for the matching first deposit bonus depends on your particular location.

We couldn’t find any public information on the terms of the sportsbook bonus and had to contact customer services to learn more about this. According to the customer services, the bonus has to be turned over nine times on bets with odds 2.0 or higher to become available for withdrawal.

Free Bet and SecureBet promotions are being issued in tokens that may be used for betting. The exact nature and amount of the token depends on different circumstances and may vary between players. AccaBoost is a fixed bonus given on accumulators.

Mobile

7/10

Mr.Play supports fully functional Mobile and Android (available at Google Play Store) versions. Seeing how their website is oriented towards mobile platforms, we wonder why they do not support iOS, or if it is still in the works.

Betting and browsing experience for the available platforms is quite good: the light blue-themed website is appealing to the eye and quite easy to navigate. The betting process is smooth and responsive; however, on smaller phones, we couldn’t shake the feeling that the available viewing area could be a bit bigger, with betting areas scaled down a bit.

Usability

7/10

  • Limitations
  • No live streaming
  • Support not available around the clock
  • On mobile, the design could be scaled down for more viewing area
  • Occasionally weird design on the mobile version
  • Average odds

Types of Bets

7/10

Mr.Play focuses on traditional sports, but also offers occasional bets on cultural events such as Academy Awards (located in the “Specials” section) and e-sports (located in the “More sports” section).

Credibility

8/10

Mr.Play is owned by Marketplay Ltd., which operates under laws of Malta and has a registered office at 135, High street, Sliema SLM 1548, Malta. The company holds the Malta MGA/CRP/148/2007 license issued in 2009 by the Malta Gaming Authority, which contains an authorisation for Fixed Odds Betting services.

In Great Britain, the website is under control of AG Communications Limited, another Malta-based company with the same address and an active license 000-039483-R-319409-001 issued by the United Kingdom Gambling Commission.

The company also holds several local licenses for operations in specific regions.

The company was established in 2009 and had operated in the casino business for almost a decade before branching into the sportsbook. Aside from the fact that Marketplay Ltd. owns a variety of casino websites, there is not much known about the company, which shows a lack of transparency.

Our search has shown that the company has a good reputation, with any complaints being swiftly resolved.

Payment Methods

6/10

Deposits

Mr.Play is orientated to the European and Nordic audience, and the available payment methods fully reflect that. With the minimum deposit limit set at €10, the sportsbook does not specify the maximum deposit, so the payment methods shown here are limited by their appropriate systems.

Withdrawals

While the withdrawal methods follow the same logic as the deposit methods, the withdrawals nevertheless have a much harsher limit of €7000 per month, which might be inconvenient for more serious players.

The transactions also can take some time to be fully processed, depending on your payment method. Transactions over €2300 may require additional verification, making the process even more lengthy.

It is important to keep in mind that Mr.Play transfers the money using the same payment method with which the money was first deposited into the account. If your preferred method does not allow this (like Maestro), the money is being transferred by bank draft.

Support

8/10

You can contact their support via e-mail, phone and live chat (07:00 GMT – 00:00 GMT) available on their website. Access to the live chat is free and – technically – doesn’t require an account, although we had to provide account data for the customer service to get answers for the simplest of questions.

Overall, live chat conversations seem to vary on your operator wildly. In one of our encounters, for example, we had two replies in 2 hours, and then the operator closed chat while we were typing an answer. We went with the same question to another operator, and everything was fine, so keep in mind that your experience may vary.

Well, so much for their “CARE” – “Customers Are Really Everything” motto.

Overall

7.3/10

Mr.Play is a welcome addition to the increasing line of bookmakers despite only being introduced in 2019. The moustache-themed sportsbook is clearly oriented at the European audience and should be still very early in its development.

Marketplay Ltd has a history of successful casino operations, and if Mr.Play proves to be successful, we can see the company transitioning more and more into sports betting.

  • Limitations
  • Low withdrawal limits
  • No live streaming
  • Support not available around the clock

The website could be better, but we are willing to give it the time it needs to iron out things a bit.
